It's no secret – TV speakers aren't all that impressive. The super slim OLED TV you love likely doesn't feature enough space to house proper drivers capable of delivering home cinema-quality sound. This is why we almost always recommend an external audio device.

This is where an option such as a soundbar comes in. This straightforward all-in-one speaker solution can serve as a major upgrade over your TV's built-in speakers, enhancing dialogue clarity, boosting dynamics and even adding spatial audio with Dolby Atmos. Some soundbars even come paired with surround speakers and/or a subwoofer for an even more immersive surround sound experience.

We've compiled some of the best soundbar deals available across a range of budgets, with options ranging from under £100 to over a thousand pounds, meaning there's bound to be something within your budget.

Not sure which model is right for you? We have buying guides with all the info on the best soundbars and the best Dolby Atmos soundbars across a range of prices, all tested by our expert reviews team. There are also plenty of options at the more affordable end of the market covered in our best budget soundbars page.

If you're looking for a Dolby Atmos-compatible soundbar that won't break the bank, then this Sony model is quite possibly our go-to choice. Sony HT-S40R £350 £299 at Amazon (save £51)
Not one we've tested but wireless 5.1 systems at this price don't come along every day. The catch is that it isn't completely wireless, requiring an included compact wireless amplifier to power the rear speakers. But if you have the space to house it this looks to be a decent compact system with Bluetooth, HDMI ARC, a USB port, plus optical and analogue inputs.

Picked-up the SONY HT-A7000 soundbar, SA-RS5 rear surrounds & SA-SW5 sub. during SONY’s pre-Xmas promotion to partner existing SONY Bravia XR 4K UHD TV. Combined with price match offer, saved over £900- on SONY UK MSRP.

Despite it’s class leading connectivity, functionality & sonic performance - particularly with respect to movies & TV - i doubt that i’d be willing to part with much more if I was shopping around now. And probably not at SONY’s current prices.

Although complex movie scenes, dialogue & soundtracks are handled with aplomb, i do think there are a few soundbar & sub. options, a couple of them for significantly less, that offer slightly better replay of stereo or multi-channel music.
